Development of musical abilities assessment for autism spectrum disorder
Participation in the study will involve:
- Completion of a personal assessment in the areas of music perception and music reproduction skills by a trained researcher
- Completion of a 20-30 minute parent questionnaire
The subject must be:
- Between 12 and 25 years of age
- Diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder or Asperger’s Disorder
- IQ greater than 70
- English-speaking
- Verbal

Develop a tool that will be able to assess musical abilities in individuals with ASD. This preliminary study is aimed at developing an assessment to identify the subgroup of individuals with ASD with disproportionately higher musical abilities relative to their cognitive abilities.
