On Friday, October 24, 2025, we welcomed nearly 300 Stanford researchers, experts, and guests passionate about food, health, and sustainability to the Frances C. Arrillaga Alumni Center at Stanford University for the 2025 Stanford Food Summit.
This daylong, in-person conference featured networking across Stanford’s seven schools, an unapologetically delicious plant-rich lunch, and panels and breakout sessions exploring how universities, hospitals, and other institutions can lead the way in procurement practices that reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
This work is complementary to the efforts underway with the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability Food Accelerator.
The 2025 Stanford Food Summit is hosted by the Plant-Based Diet Initiative (PBDI), a research unit of Stanford Medicine made possible through generous funding from Beyond Meat. To learn more about our research projects and how to apply for seed grants for plant-based diet research, please visit pbdi.stanford.edu.
