Innovative Methods to Assess Psychotherapy Practices in CBT and CPT: The imAPP Study
The imAPP study has completed participant recruitment and we hope to share our results soon!
We want to identify user-friendly tools to understand what happens during CBT/CPT sessions and ultimately support therapists in their delivery of cognitive behavioral therapies.
Participation of any treatment provider (i.e. Ph.D. or Master’s level clinicians, interns, postdocs or practicum students) who uses cognitive behavioral strategies and CBT/CPT worksheets for depression, anxiety and/or PTSD as a part of their practice is welcomed.
You can learn more about CPT in an episode of This American Life called “Ten Sessions”. A women shares her experience as she participates in CPT to address a sexual trauma that occurred whe she was a teen: https://www.thisamericanlife.org/
Participating therapists and clients will be asked to:
•allow therapy sessions to be recorded
•complete brief surveys
•allow research team to access clinical notes and worksheets for consented clients
•complete a brief interview at the end of the study
•potentially complete CBT worksheets using a mobile app
