About Us

Our research seeks to understand how microenvironmental cues regulate stem cell fate, and to develop novel biomaterials and stem cell-based therapeutics for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. Our work spans from fundamental science, technology development, to translational research. Specifically, we focus on the following thrust areas: (1) stem cells, (2) biomaterials, (3) drug/gene delivery and (4) tissue engineering. We are particularly interested in developing better therapies for treating musculoskeletal diseases, cardiovascular diseases and cancer. Our research is highly interdisciplinary and we work at the interface of biology, materials science, engineering and medicine. [Read more...]
