Estelle B. Freedman is the Edgar E. Robinson Professor in U.S. History (Emerit) at Stanford University, where she taught women’s history and feminist studies from 1976 to 2022 and co-founded and directed the Program in Feminist, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. She has published ten books on the histories of women, feminism, and sexuality, including (with John D’Emilio), Intimate Matters: A History of Sexuality in America and My Desire for History: Essays on Gay, Community, and Labor History by Allan Bérubé, as well as historical studies of women’s prison reform, lesbian identity, and sexual violence. Professor Freedman recently co-directed Singing for Justice, a documentary film about a San Francisco folk musician and activist. She has held fellowships from the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Guggenheim Memorial Foundation, and the Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences, where she is currently a Stanford Faculty Fellow. She and her partner, Susan Krieger, have lived in San Francisco for over forty years.

Tanza J. Solis '15 is a multidisciplinary artist who specializes in visual storytelling. His work explores the themes of abnormal psychology, gender, intimacy, encounters with the sublime, pre-colonial history, and ancestral trauma with visual language informed by abject art, tectonic activity, biological processes, and elemental states. These explorations are necessarily informed by his experience as a queer, trangender man of the Filipino diaspora. He deals largely in figurative painting while sustaining an exploratory practice that includes comics, writing, and fiber arts. Tanza received his B.A. in Art Practice at Stanford University, matriculating with Interdisciplinary Honors in the Arts. His work has been showcased throughout the Bay Area, including Strut, Kearny Street Workshop, and Liminal Space Gallery. He currently resides in the SF Bay Area and works at California College of the Arts.

Meg Quint (they/them) is a second-year medical student at Stanford as part of the REACH MD/MS cohort. Meg has extensive history working in LGBTQ+ and intersex health research in both community and academic spaces. They anticipate pursuing plastics and reconstructive surgery with specializations in gender-affirming surgery and hand reconstruction.

Weichen Ling, EdM (she/her) is the Program Manager for Stanford Medicine’s LGBTQ+ Health Program, supporting education and training initiatives, curriculum development, and research networking toward more inclusive and affirming care for LGBTQ+ patients. Her work is informed by her intersectional identities as a Queer Asian immigrant woman, former middle school teacher, and community organizer.

Sydney Covitz is a second-year Bioengineering PhD student at Stanford and recently joined the Neuromuscular Biomechanics Lab (NMBL), led by Principal Investigator Dr. Scott Delp. NMBL leverages expertise in biomechanics, computer science, imaging, robotics, and neuroscience and applies cutting edge computational methods of human movement analysis to the areas of clinical research and sports performance. Sydney’s current project aims to use video-capture data to develop kinematic-based upper extremity functional scores for patients with neuromuscular disorders. Sydney is also working on a startup that aims to ease the burden of immigration paperwork by providing automated error-checking and translation services and teaches a biannual course for high school students on interview skills as part of Stanford Splash. Before coming to Stanford, Sydney spent three years working as a Neuroinformatics Software Engineer at the University of Pennsylvania’s Lifespan Informatics and Neuroimaging Center (PennLINC) on a team that creates tools and reproducible processing pipelines for analysis of brain MRIs. While there, she was promoted twice, co-authored 14 publications, built a software package that now has over 5k downloads, and co-founded the section’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Work Group. Sydney believes spending time with patients to be absolutely critical for anyone looking to make an impact in human-centered, clinically translational research, and as such, spent two years volunteering on the Neurology floor at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Sydney also has professional experience in the fields of journalism and cybersecurity research; she spent one summer working on the Editorial Desk of The Washington Post and another with Carnegie Mellon University’s Software and Societal Systems Department. Sydney graduated from Swarthmore College in 2020 with a double major in Computer Science and English Literature. While there, she was a co-captain of the Varsity Women’s Soccer Team, ran mid-distance events for the Varsity Track and Field Team, and wrote op-eds for The Phoenix––Swarthmore College’s Independent Campus Newspaper. Outside of work, Sydney enjoys hanging out with her friends, trying new coffee shops, traveling internationally, playing soccer, lifting weights, and throwing massive dinner parties––especially for Jewish holidays.

Van Wilson is an experienced administrative professional who works for Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI), working for both the Kingsley Lab in the Stanford University School of Medicine within the Dept. of Developmental Biology as well as the Shen Lab in the Dept of Biology within the School of Humanities and Sciences. Van holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology), an MBA from Brandeis University (2020), and a Master of Public Policy (MPP) from Brandeis’ Heller School (2022). Van’s diverse expertise and academic achievements contribute to their role in the research environment at Stanford, where they support lab activities and scientific administration. Van’s entrepreneurial spirit led them to found and run a cat boarding business, aptly named VandyCat. Van is also an active volunteer with their high school, the Columbus School for Girls (CSG), where they are currently President-Elect. Finaly, Van is an award-winning volunteer with MIT, where they have served as Class President, Class Secretary and helped organize numerous past reunions.

Bianca Tonantzin Zamora (she/her) is an intersectional Latina lesbian feminista poet, LGBTQ+ community organizer, and joy-driven diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging trailblazer. Bianca currently serves as the Assistant Director for the Office of IDEAL Advancement, supporting the implementation of the IDEAL strategic plan and leads arts-based DEIB workshops for faculty and staff at Stanford University. She shines in her Leo power and queer joy as the Chief Diversity Officer for Silicon Valley Pride, event organizer for LGBTQ+ Hey Girl!, and All Queer, No Fear Improv Troupe performer with Berkeley Improv. She received a Bachelor of Arts with distinction from Sonoma State University in Women's and Gender Studies and a Master of Science from Miami University in Student Affairs with Diversity & Equity.

I am a drag queen on the rise, and I go by the name Daphne Summers Ferragamo. My drag is very delicious and gorgeous of course as I am the diva of the night. At one of my shows, you can expect beauty, grace, and professionalism as I walk you through my varying acts of emotional ballads or high energy dance numbers. In addition, with my identity as a queer Indigenous and Latina femme I work to uplift those communities within my numbers as well as holding myself in solidarity with other marginalized communities. In this light, I will say I do engage in intentional and active conversation and commentary on political issues globally. But of course, drag is inherently political and that must be known! I love drag and all of its iterations because drag is for all and a beautiful way to celebrate queerness and all its joys. Hailing from the Morongo Indian Reservation in Southern CA, its the indigebaddie Daphne Summers Ferragamo. She has been working as a drag queen for 2 years with her breakthrough in the West Hollywood drag scene this last summer. Be prepared for all of her beauty and talent to leave you stunned and gagged.

Beyond their drag persona, Angela has dedicated years to fostering diversity and inclusion at Stanford and beyond, whether by coordinating academic support for students or organizing large-scale LGBTQ+ events.
