HEAL Webinar: Asian Health Disparities

The Office of Faculty Development and Diversity is hosting a faculty webinar with the Health Equity Action Leadership (HEAL) Network and the Stanford Center for Continuing Medical Education (CME) to highlight efforts that explore and improve Asian health equity. You will hear from a health equity researcher about the intersection of Asian health equity, future directions, and her personal journeys into this research. The event will feature a presentation and will be followed by a Q&A session.
Learning Objectives:
- Examine Asian health equity and how research can begin to address these inequities.
- Increase awareness about research addressing Asian health disparities and why the speaker has chosen to focus her career in this space.
- Highlight community engaged research addressing Asian health disparities.
Speaker
Van Park, PhD MPH
Dr. Van Ta Park is a Professor at UCSF, School of Nursing, Department of Community Health Systems. Her primary research interest is to address issues related to racial and ethnic minority health and healthcare disparities among Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) communities, through interdisciplinary community-based participatory research. Her research areas include recruitment science, mental health, and Alzheimer's disease and related dementias (ADRD) caregiving.
