Team Science

In today’s biomedical world, collaboration across disparate scientific fields among multi-investigator teams is required in order to solve the most complex medical problems.

OFDE's day-long Leading Team Science training will be held on Monday, March 30, 2026. If you would like to be considered for this year’s program, please submit a brief application at this link. The form will ask for your contact information, optional demographic information, a brief (<300 words) statement of interest, CV, and a letter of support from your Department Chair or Division Chief. The letter of support should be brief (less than one page), and should discuss how/why you are poised to expand your existing or emerging leadership in interdisciplinary or team science research.

Applications will be due on Thursday, February 5, 2026.

OFDE’s one-day Leading Team Science Teams training provides guidance on the characteristics, processes, and dynamics that contribute to a multidisciplinary team’s success while engaging researchers to learn more about how team science should be initiated, conducted, and evaluated.

Participants learn to develop strategies to prevent, reduce, and mitigate conflict among researchers in a Team Science. Participants also gain an understanding of how Team Science accomplishments are used in the Appointments & Promotions process. Faculty across all ranks and lines may be nominated by their Department Chairs and Liaisons.
