Online Professional Development

Stanford School of Medicine and Stanford University have a wide variety of faculty training opportunities. The Office of Faculty Development and Engagement (OFDE) and the Office of Academic Affairs (OAA) created a centralized faculty training website with go-to resources for your professional development.

Resources are organized in the thirteen categories below. Under each category are Stanford organizations highlighting the type of program, intended audiences, sponsoring unit, how to join, duration/logistics, details, and the website links/contact information. 

  • OAA Faculty Learning Bites

    The Faculty Learning Bites e-Library contains short learning videos for faculty on specific topics in areas such as communication, mentoring, career advancement and leadership. The purpose is to offer on-demand microlearning for any of our faculty to get oriented to Stanford, gain new insights or brush up on skills. Library content is curated to meet the faculty professional development needs, which we continually assess among our 3000+ faculty across ranks and lines. The Learning Bites e-Library is continually growing, with monthly production of new content. Open to faculty across all ranks and lines.

  • OFDE Online Professional Education

    The Office of Faculty Development and Engagement offers a suite of online courses to support continued education for faculty on topics related to the academic medicine workplace. Open to faculty across all ranks and lines.

  • Stanford Center for Continuing Medical Education (CME)

    The Stanford Center for Continuing Medical Education provides healthcare professionals with access to cutting-edge knowledge from Stanford’s renowned clinicians, scientists, and educators. Open to faculty across all ranks and lines.
