The Office of Faculty Development and Engagement (OFDE) and the Office of Academic Affairs (OAA) created a centralized faculty training website with go-to resources for your professional development.

Clinician Educator Peer Networking Program (CEPN)
The CEPN program provides in-person and virtual networking opportunities among early career Clinician Educators. The goals are to build community, enhance physician wellness, and promote career satisfaction among early career Clinician Educators throughout the School of Medicine. For invited early career clinical assistant professors.

Community Support Initiative
The Community Support Initiative is a program organized by the Office of Development and Engagement (OFDE) that provides awardees funding to organize networks with an impact on faculty community. The goal for this initiative is to help faculty establish communities and networks for belonging and support within Stanford Medicine. Funding is provided for a pilot year with the goal that programs will consider pathways to secure funding for the continuation of the network. Open to faculty of all ranks across all lines who would like to launch faculty communities of support.

Faculty Peer Mentoring Program
Mentoring groups allow for consultation and sharing of perspective that can foster new collegial relationships, career planning, skills development and lead to opportunities to meet faculty from other departments or fields.

Health Equity Action Leadership (HEAL) Faculty Network
Based in research and scholarship, the HEAL Faculty Network brings together faculty engaged in health equity research to: receive or provide mentorship; participate in education and training; identify collaborative funding opportunities; and, develop local and national policies to address health disparities.

Leadership Education in Advancing Diversity (LEAD)
A longitudinal leadership program for residents and fellows across GME to develop leadership and scholarship skills in addressing issues related to equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) with the support of faculty mentors.

LGBTQ+ Faculty Network
LGBTQ+ Faculty Network activities provide a forum to learn about LGBTQ+ related research and support. Open to Stanford Medicine faculty of all ranks and lines.

Mentor Training
This course is for faculty who would like to assess their readiness and skills to be strong peer mentors, and who inspire to refine their repertoires to have a positive impact in mentoring a new generation of Stanford faculty.

Minority Faculty Network
Stanford Medicine’s Minority Faculty Network small-group luncheons offer an occasion to meet with and learn from colleagues in an intimate setting. Open to Stanford Medicine faculty of all ranks and lines.

Stanford Medicine Alliance for Disability Inclusion and Equity (SMADIE)
SMADIE is composed of people who have disabilities and their allies. Membership is open to everyone at Stanford Medicine, including Stanford School of Medicine, Stanford Health Care, University HealthCare Alliance (UHA), Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford, Packard Children’s Health Alliance (PCHA), and Stanford Children’s Health. SMADIE's priorities are CHARME: promoting Community, Health Equity, Advocacy, Research, Mentorship and Education in medicine.

Stanford Network for Advancement and Promotion (SNAP)
Enhances leadership skills and builds a support network that participants will be able to rely on. Develops skills that promote success and advancement within participant fields.

Starting Up Your Research Group SURGE I
A course for beginner Principal Investigators who are new to Stanford and are in their first term of appointment, who lead research group in basic or clinical departments. Open to newly appointed assistant professors with research labs.

Starting Up Your Research Group SURGE II
This course entails didactic as well as hands-on workshops, in addition to individual leadership assessment and coaching from a certified internal coach. Open to newly appointed assistant professors with research labs.

Starting Up Your Research Group SURGE-Clinical
A course for beginner Clinical Investigators who are new to Stanford and will be/are leading clinical research programs. Open to newly appointed assistant professors with clinical research/clinical trials.

Teaching and Mentoring Academy
Facilitating the skills development of our faculty educators and mentors is a core part of the Academy’s mission, and we strive to deliver several programs that will accomplish this. These include training programs in teaching skills and mentoring skills, educational scholarship, and instructional peer observation.

Women Faculty Network
Monthly lunchtime meeting with featured topics, speakers of interest, and small group networking opportunities, geared toward those interested in learning about and promoting the professional success of women in the field of medicine. Open to all Stanford Medicine faculty and instructors, regardless of gender, across all lines.
