PhD in Epidemiology and Clinical Research

In the course of the doctoral program, each student will carry out the following:

• Complete the core courses and elective coursework
• Pass the Preliminary Examination
• Identify a dissertation project
• Develop a detailed NIH-style dissertation proposal 
• Complete the Oral Qualifying Examination
• Advance to candidacy - Submit an Application for Candidacy for Doctoral Program
• Form a Doctoral Dissertation Reading Committee
• Conduct the dissertation research project(s)
• Write the dissertation 
• Present dissertation results in a public seminar - Submit a University Oral Exam form
• Pass the Final Examination (defense of dissertation)
• Complete and submit PhD dissertation to the Registrar
