Nominations Process

Dean's Anne G. Crowe Spirit Award

The School of Medicine will award the Anne G. Crowe Spirit Award to two exceptional staff members. The winners will be selected based on outstanding dedication, initiative, motivation, positive attitude, and customer service.

The winners will each receive a $4,000 check.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. The nominated School of Medicine staff employees must have outstanding performance and demonstrate consistent dedication, initiative, motivation, positive attitude, and customer service to those they support and with whom they interact.

                 Examples of demonstrated Spirit Award behaviors include: works collaborately, is engaged and accountable, focuses  work on customers' needs and practices the science of improvement.

                  In addition, during the past year the COVID-19 pandemic has presented unique challenges for everyone and we’ve seen staff go above and beyond their normal duties to support and lead their teams during these unprecedented times.    

     

  2. Staff members must have been employed as regular (including bargaining unit) employees, at 50% FTE or more, in one department/unit for the past 2 years, as of December 31, 2021, and must be a School of Medicine employee at the time the Award is given.

    TDS staff who provide support to SOM eligible for the SoM Staff Awards, including those TDS staff  who are now SHC  employees

     

  3. Staff excluded from being nominated include Directors of Finance and Administration, Acting DFAs, Dean's Office Senior Managers, Deans/Associate Deans/Assistant Deans, Faculty, Clinician Educators, Clinical Instructors, and previous Spirit Award winners.

Who Can Nominate

Any faculty, staff, student, fellow and post doc working at the School of Medicine may nominate any eligible staff members (i.e., non-exempt and exempt) in any department or administrative area who meet the award criteria (see Eligibility Criteria above).

Self-nominations are not allowed. Staff efforts should reach the level that others recognize and want to nominate the staff member.

Nomination Process

All nominations must be electronic. Please use the online form to submit your ballot to the Award Selection Committee, Human Resources Group.

The nomination period closes on March 29, 2024.

Recipients will be selected and notified later in the Spring.
