  • Interdisciplinary partners

Situated in Silicon Valley, and surrounded by intellectual capital and innovation, Stanford is home to some of the world’s trailblazers in translational research and cutting-edge emergency medicine best practices.

Our program attracts outstanding candidates on competitive career paths, who collaborate with multidisciplinary scholars, industry heads, and community partners to create fundamental change in care – locally and around the globe. Meet our current fellows and mentees.

Stanford Emergency Medicine offers fellowships and advanced mentorships in 13 areas.

At Stanford, we use the term “advanced mentorship program” (per university naming guidelines) for what many other institutions call a “fellowship.”

When you apply to an advanced mentorship here, you’re applying for the same high-level training, resources, and opportunities you’d find in a fellowship elsewhere.

Learn more about what makes our fellowships unique, from our state-of-the-art emergency departments to our amazing quality of life.

Our Commitment

Stanford Department of Emergency Medicine welcomes and encourages people of all backgrounds. Our goal is to create a medical team reflective of the community and the world we serve. We achieve this goal by ensuring inclusion and representation of all individuals regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, and physical ability.

We are committed to serving as a vital resource to vulnerable populations. Locally, as we see increasing homelessness and income disparities, we remain a critical source of equitable and accessible care for all.
