The Educational Technology (EdTech) team applies technology solutions that facilitate a positive learning experience for students, and empowers faculty to integrate high-quality, efficient, and effective teaching. Our vision is to transform Stanford Medicine by acting as a catalyst for the adoption of evidence-based, emerging and engaging educational technology. Teaching Assistants (TAs)
TAs can help you navigate your curriculum and resources. Always check with your TA first to see if they can assist or guide you to the right solution.

Our Services
Canvas LMS
Canvas is your Learning Management System (LMS). You can adjust your notification settings and sync your Canvas calendar with your other online calendars to help manage your day-to-day academic needs.
Lecture Capture Media
EdTech manages the Stanford Medicine classroom lecture capture services. Lectures become available 4-5 hours after the end of the session via Lecture Media page in Canvas. The streaming video files have text search available.
Lecture captures must comply with HIPAA. Protected Health Information (PHI) should not be found on lecture captures. Please notify your TAs or Course Directors if you see PHI on any lecture captures.
Recording Studios
LK312
A state-of-the-art recording studio is available to students, faculty, and staff for high-quality screen capture, video editing, podcasting, and audio recording. It requires a reservation and short orientation before use.
Data Security Requirement 2024
1. Complete the online Data and Device Attestation form.
2. Encrypt all devices (laptops, desktops, smartphones, tablets, external drives, etc.) that will be used for Stanford work (including email) that you attested to.
3. If you plan on purchasing a new device prior to your arrival, please review the data security policies in detail to ensure the new device can comply.
4. Once you have completed the above steps, verify your status.
5. Install LockDown Browser, a secure browser that you will use to take online exams in Stanford’s learning management system, Canvas.
