Biography

 

The University of Michigan Medical School

College

In 1986 Dr. Sam P. Most enrolled in the Honors College at the University of Michigan. He was awarded the Sophomore Honors Award in 1988. In 1989, he was awarded the Angell Scholar Award. He graduated in 1990 with High Honors in Biology, having completed his thesis in neurobiology.

 

Stanford University School of Medicine

Medical School

In 1990, he enrolled at Stanford University School of Medicine. Here he spent 5 years studying the basic science and practice of medicine. He graduated with a Dean's Award in 1995.

 

Howard Hughes Medical Institute

Research Fellowship

In 1992, Dr. Most was awarded a prestigious Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) Fellowship. He studied molecular mechanisms of adrenergic receptor regulation in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Physiology at the Stanford University School of Medicine. In 2012, his mentor, Brian Kobilka, won the Nobel Prize.

 

Yale University School of Medicine

Internship - General Surgery

After medical school, Dr. Most went on to an internship in General Surgery at the Yale University School of Medicine/Yale-New Haven Hospital.

 

University of Washington

Residency - Head & Neck Surgery

Dr. Most then began his training in the world-renowned Department of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at the University of Washington. His training included the most advanced techniques in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. During his residency he received numerous awards, including the Lampkin Award. His National Awards included three consecutive yearly awards (1997, 1998, 1999) from the Association for Research in Otolaryngology (ARO). He was the first resident to be invited to join the Physicians Research Training Committee.

 

American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery

Fellowship - Facial Plastic Surgery

Dr. Most was then accepted into a competitive fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Washington. He completed advanced training in aesthetic and reconstructive plastic surgery of the head and neck.

 

American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery

Board Certification

Dr. Most then completed the rigorous written and oral board examinations by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, followed by a two-year process of surgical review prior to certification. He renewed his certification in 2015 (oral and written examination).

 

University of Washington

Chief of the Division of Facial Plastic Surgery - University of Washington

Dr. Most was soon recruited to lead the Division of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Washington. He served as Chief of this Division from 2002-2006.

 

Medical Directorship

Medical Director of Cosmetic Surgery

In January 2004, Dr. Most was appointed the Medical Director of the multidisciplinary Cosmetic Surgery Center. Here he oversaw the cosmetic surgery practices of Plastic Surgeons, Oculoplastic Surgeons, Dermatologic Surgeons as well as his own practice.

 

American College of Surgeons

Fellow of the American College of Surgeons

Dr. Most was honored with an invitation to be a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons in 2005, an honor only given to surgeons who have demonstrated achievement in patient care and the utmost integrity and compassion for their patients.

 

Stanford University School of Medicine

Chief of the Division of Facial Plastic Surgery - Stanford University

In July 2006, Dr. Most was appointed as Chief of the Division of Facial Plastic Surgery at Stanford University. Here, he has been recognized nationally and internationally for his clinical work. He has seen many patients from the San Francisco Bay Area, from all over the United States and abroad.
