American Heart Association

The American Heart Association (AHA), with support from Pfizer and Gates Ventures, awarded new four-year grants on April 1, 2022 to address the lack of diversity, equity and inclusion in clinical trials for medical research. The DIVERSE project, as a collaboration between Stanford University School of Medicine and Morehouse School of Medicine, joins partnering teams across the country through AHA's Strategically-Focused Research Network (SFRN) on the Science of Diversity in Clinical Trials (SDCT). The DIVERSE project consists of testing different accessibility technologies and strategies, hypertension trials, and building a training program for community and clinical researchers. New knowledge resulting from funding these projects benefits millions of lives throughout the US and around the world.
