Q: What will the visit include?  More

A: We will ask you to complete developmental and behavioral questionnaires before your child’s appointment. Your child may see an individual developmental-behavioral pediatrics clinician or may be evaluated by several members of our developmental-behavioral pediatrics clinical team. The visit may include a parent interview, child interview, child testing and/or child physical examination. Based on these sources of information, we will develop a clinical impression and we will share that with you.

Q: What will happen after the appointment?  More

A: We will work with you to arrive at next steps. We may recommend further medical testing. We suggest services and therapies within the community appropriate for your child. We may advise new strategies for you to use at home in caring for your child. We will determine if a follow-up appointment in our clinic is needed.

Q: How does this visit differ from other doctor visits?  More

A: Anticipate spending more time at our clinic than at other doctor visits. If your child has difficulty waiting, you may find it helpful to bring two adults. Feel comfortable bringing a snack (a snack for yourself as well) and some of your child’s own toys.
