According to the SRTR, this metric has the highest impact on survival after heart transplantation. Among the adult heart transplant programs, SHC has the highest observed transplant rate (658.1) in CA and in top 3 Region 5 and top 5 in the U.S. (Region 5 includes California, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, and New Mexico).
Time to Transplant
Stanford’s median time to heart transplantation continues to improve (decrease) and at 0.4 month, it is better (shorter) than the averages in Donor Service Area (DSA) (0.7 m), Region 5 (1.3 m) and the US times (2.2 m). Among all the heart transplant centers, Stanford has the shortest wait time in CA and in Region 5 and is in top 3 in the U.S.
Organ Offer Acceptance Ratio
Stanford’s observed number of acceptance is statistically higher than the expected, and Stanford’s acceptance ratio of 2.34 is better (higher) than ratios of DSA (1.28), Region 5 (0.98) and the U.S. (1). Stanford has the highest offer acceptance ratio in CA and in Region 5, and is in top 10 in the U.S.
Excellent graft and patient survival outcomes at 1 year after transplant, better than both the Expected and the U.S.
