Transplant Rate
According to the SRTR, this metric has the highest impact on survival after heart transplantation. Based on the SRTR’s 5-Tier Outcome Assessment (srtr.org) methodology, SHC has the highest observed transplant rate (4.85) in CA and in Region 5 and is in top 10 in the U.S. (Region 5 includes California, Nevada, Utah, Arizona and New Mexico)
Time to Transplant
Stanford’s median time to heart transplantation continues to improve (decrease) and at 0.5 month, it is better (shorter) than the Donor Service Area (DSA) (0.9 m), Region 5 (1.5 m) and the US times (3.0 m). SHC has the shortest wait time in CA and in Region 5, and is in top 3 in the U.S.
Organ Offer Acceptance Ratio
Stanford’s observed number of acceptances is statistically higher than the expected, and Stanford’s acceptance ratio of 2.95 is better (higher) than DSA (1.71), Region 5 (1.20) and the U.S. (1). Stanford’s has the highest offer acceptance ratio in CA and in Region 5, and is in top 5 in the U.S.
