AHFTC Application Process

Requirements of the AHFTC Fellowship include:

  • Completion and passing of all three USMLE steps
  • ABIM board certified or board eligible in core cardiology
  • The accepted applicant must obtain a California medical license
  • A valid ECFMG certificate for all foreign medical graduates
  • Only J1 visas accepted
  • Completion of previous cardiology fellowship training is required

2020 Medical Specialties Matching Program for 2021 Appointments:

  • IMPORTANT DATES FOR APPLICANTS TASK: DATE: WHAT THIS MEANS ERAS 2021 Season Begins June 2020 Applications can be submitted to programs via ERAS
  • Please note that some or all interviews may be conducted virtually this year.
  • Interview season September to October 2020*
  • Programs will invite applicants and conduct interviews
  • Ranking Opens October 2020 Candidates and programs can submit rank lists
  • Rank Order List Certification Deadline
  • November 2020 at 9:00 p.m. ET
  • Rank order lists are due
  • Match Day December 2020 at noon, ET
  • Fellowships Begin July 1, 2021
