Women's Heart Health Fellow

Dr. Oksana Petrechko was born in Ukraine and moved to the United States at a young age, growing up in central California. She earned her B.S. in Pharmaceutical Chemistry with a minor in Art History from the University of California, Davis. Following graduation, she worked in translational research studying HTLV/HIV pseudotyping and mechanisms of sexual transmission, as well as the development of topical anti-HIV therapeutics.
Dr. Petrechko received her medical degree from Touro University California College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her Internal Medicine residency and Cardiovascular Disease fellowship at the University of New Mexico.
Her clinical and academic interests focus on women’s cardiovascular health, with particular emphasis on cardiovascular disease in pregnancy. During fellowship, she was involved in research focusing on cardio-obstetrics. She has also served as the only cardiology representative on the New Mexico Maternal Mortality Review Committee, contributing cardiovascular expertise to multidisciplinary reviews of maternal deaths across the state.
Outside of work, she enjoys drawing, rollerblading, and spending time with family.
