Multiple 1.5T and 3T MR systems are used for cardiac imaging at the Stanford campus. Cardiac CT is performed on state-of-the-art dual-source CT systems, including several photon-counting CT scanners. The cardiac imaging volume at Stanford has grown to have some of the highest imaging volumes in the country, demonstrating our experience and specialization. The Stanford Echo lab is ICAEL (Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Echocardiography Laboratories) accredited.
- Approximately 32,000 transthoracic echoes per year
- Approximately 3,000 stress echoes per year
- Approximately 1300 transesophageal echoes per year
- Approximately 1800 cardiac MRIs performed per year
- Approximately 2800 cardiac CTs performed per year
Yearly Procedural Volumes
- Approximately 60-70 mitral and tricuspid transcatheter edge to edge repairs (TEER)
- Approximately 60-70 left atrial appendage closure devices
- Approximately 300 transcatheter aortic valve replacements (TAVR)
- Additional procedures include: transcatheter tricuspid valve replacement, transcatheter mitral valve replacement, valve-in-valve interventions, valve-in-ring interventions, valve-in-mitral annular calcification placement, mitral valvuloplasty, atrial septal/patent foramen ovale closure, ventricular septal defect closure, paravalvular leak closure
