Advanced Echocardiography Imaging
The Noninvasive Cardiovascular Imaging Laboratory is a service organized around the evaluation of the heart and vascular systems using non-invasive techniques. Currently, the laboratory consist of 10 Faculty members with clinical expertise and board certification in echocardiography and cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging. Services provided include evaluations of coronary artery disease, ventricular morphology and function, valvular morphology and function, congenital heart diseases, myocardial heart diseases, and pericardial heart diseases.
The Stanford echocardiography laboratory has been at the forefront of cardiac ultrasound for over 30 years, and currently performs more than 25,000 procedures annually. It is accredited by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC). The lab offers a full range of noninvasive tests, including:
- Two-dimensional echocardiography and Doppler
- Three-dimensional echocardiography
- Transesophageal echocardiography
- Transesophageal echo in the guidance of invasive procedures
- Stress echo with exercise and dobutamine provocation
- Strain Echocardiography and Tissue Doppler imaging
- Intravascular ultrasound
- Intravascular ultrasound catheter development
- Internet-based image delivery systems
- Magnetic resonance coronary angiography
- Perfusion magnetic resonance imaging in angiogenesis
- Noninvasive oximetry with magnetic resonance imaging
- Cardio-pulmonary stress testing
