Cardiac Organoids in Niches Technology Development Program
(COIN TDP)
COIN Mission
Mission
Our mission is to transform cardiovascular research and drug discovery by developing a scalable, human-centric, and regulatory-ready NAMs platform that integrates biology, engineering, and data science to bridge fundamental discovery with clinical translation.
Vision
We envision a future where human-based models replace animal testing, enabling safer, faster, and more precise development of cardiovascular therapies, while establishing new standards for predictive and translational biomedical research.
Strategic Goals
- Establish COIN as a gold-standard NAMs platform for cardiovascular research
- Advance cardiac safety pharmacology and drug discovery through human-centric models
- Enable patient-specific and population-level disease modeling
- Align with FDA, OECD, and EPA regulatory frameworks to support NAMs adoption
- Promote open science, FAIR data sharing, and reproducibility
- Train the next generation of interdisciplinary scientists in NAMs, AI, biomaterials, and translational research
