- The Tsao Lab investigates the molecular underpinnings of cardiovascular disease, employing a wide range of biochemical, cellular, and physiological techniques to generate fundamental insights, with the goal of improving risk assessment as well as identifying novel therapeutic targets. Dr. Tsao also co-leads the VA Million Veteran Program, the largest healthcare center-associated biobank that integrates genetic data, health records, military exposures, and lifestyle information from a vast cohort to discover genetic variants linked to various health conditions. This dual approach allows for both detailed laboratory investigation and large-scale data analysis, enhancing the potential for impactful discoveries in cardiovascular health and beyond.
