Stanford Cardiovascular Institute Recognition Award for Faculty

The annual Stanford Cardiovascular Institute (CVI) Recognition Award recognizes faculty members who continuously strive to improve the Institute’s culture and community.

With this award, CVI recognizes CVI faculty members whose efforts increase or celebrate the diversity of CVI members, contribute to fair and just practises that ensure CVI members thrive, and/or promote an environment of mutual respect, belonging, and inclusion at CVI.

Each year, CVI issues two awards of $3,000 each to CVI-affiliated faculty who have made exceptional contributions to our community.

Marlene Rabinovitch, MD

Dwight and Vera Dunlevie Professor of Pediatric Cardiology, Pediatrics - Cardiology

Recognized for her strong support of CVI’s community and culture; including her dedication to education and mentorship, her championing of equitable research, and her support of underserved communities.

John W. MacArthur, MD

Assistant Professor of Cardiothoracic Surgery

Recognized for his sustained efforts to support and mentor trainees from underrepresented backgrounds across all career stages, and creating a culture of inclusivity and respect.

Awarded for his active participation in activities that strengthen the CVI community and his continuous efforts to improve the culture and community.

Sushma Reddy, MD

Awarded for her active participation in activities that strengthen the CVI community and her continuous efforts to improve the culture and community.

Patricia Nguyen, MD

Assistant Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine

Recognized for her efforts promoting inclusion and mentorship for career advancement of early career scientists, especially women trainees and junior faculty members.
