"One of the major challenges I faced was honestly first going through some imposter syndrome not feeling like I belonged when realizing everyone’s research level and experience was different and I had essentially none. At first, learning material was a lot post covid, However, I overcame this by developing a structured daily routine and leaning on the support system within the lab who became like family. My PI and lab members were incredibly approachable, providing both academic and personal support whenever needed. By asking questions and engaging fully in lab activities, I was able to bridge knowledge gaps and grow more comfortable in my role to where I felt like a student leader."
