"My experience in the CVI Summer Research Program was truly enriching. I had the privilege of being accepted in both 2023 and 2024 to work in Dr. Joe Hsu's lab within the Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine (PACCM). The lab’s focus on transplant-related fibrosis and novel therapeutics was both exciting and inspiring. During my time there, I worked on two significant projects—one related to idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) and the other to graft-versus-host disease (GVHD). I also had the opportunity to form lasting friendships with peers. We spent time together riding bikes around campus, playing basketball, and eating at the dining hall, which made the experience even more memorable."
