About the CVI Summer Research Program

Our 10-week program is designed to provide meaningful research experiences to undergraduate and medical students in the field of cardiovascular science.

These goals are met in the following ways:

  • Hands-on training with faculty mentors on the scientific process—from study design to presentations and publications.
  • Rigorous research training throughout the summer, in addition to an innovative scientific and career development curriculum.
  • Meetings with leading faculty, like the Dean of Stanford School of Medicine, Director of Stanford CVI, and other local pioneers for research, networking, and career advice.

Many students continue working with their lab mentors beyond completion of the program and maintain their affiliation to further their research projects, submit manuscripts for publications, and receive guidance as they apply for further opportunities like medical school.
