Department Welcomes Two New Clinical Instructors

The Stanford Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery is pleased to welcome Albert “AJ” Pedroza, MD, and Katherine Verdi, MD, as Clinical Instructors. We are thrilled to have them both continue their journeys at Stanford Medicine, having recently completed their training within the department.
Albert “AJ” Pedroza, MD
Albert “AJ” Pedroza, MD, completed both his medical degree and cardiothoracic surgery residency at the Stanford School of Medicine. In his new role as Clinical Instructor in Adult Cardiac Surgery, he will focus on advanced aortic surgery and support clinical care across several of the department’s satellite programs. This fall, Dr. Pedroza will further specialize in complex aortic interventions by beginning an advanced thoracic endovascular aortic fellowship in Paris, France. He began his new role on July 1.
Katherine Verdi, MD
Katherine Verdi, MD, recently completed her cardiothoracic surgery fellowship at the Stanford School of Medicine. Prior to joining the department, she earned her medical degree and completed her general surgery residency at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, Maryland. In her new role, she will continue her training with a focus on coronary surgery. She began her new role on August 1.
