2024 Stanford Pride Parade

June is Pride Month, an annual celebration dedicated to amplifying LGBTQ+ voices as well as celebrating their accomplishments. This year, the Stanford Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery co-sponsored the 4th Annual Pride Parade on Wednesday, June 5, 2024. More than 100 people marched for LGBTQ+ awareness and equal rights, including staff, faculty, trainees, and samba dancers.

For the first time, the parade honored two community members as Grand Marshals: Bláz Bush, Executive Director of the LGBTQ+ Health Program, and Leslee Suback, MD, Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Founding Director of the LGBTQ+ Health Program.

This year's event was supported by a Stanford Campus Engagement Mini-Grant and co-sponsored by the Departments of Emergency Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Pediatrics, and Surgery, and the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine.
