Ngan Huang, PhD, receives Alan T. Hirsch, MD, Mid-Career Award in Vascular Medicine

Ngan F. Huang, PhD, associate professor of cardiothoracic surgery at the Stanford University School of Medicine, was recently awarded the 2023 Alan T. Hirsch, MD Mid-Career Award in Vascular Medicine, sponsored by the American Heart Association (AHA) Council on Peripheral Vascular Disease (PVD). She received the award at the Vascular Discovery: From Genes to Medicine Scientific Sessions on May 10-13, 2023, in Boston, Mass.
Huang’s submitted abstract, “Delivery of Allogeneic Mitochondria Accelerates Revascularization in a Murine Model of Peripheral Arterial Disease and Reverses Metabolic Signatures of Endothelial Senescence,” was selected winner of the Alan T. Hirsch, MD Mid-Career Award in Vascular Medicine, which encourages and supports the efforts of peripheral vascular disease investigators who are at mid-career level.
This mid-career achievement award recognizes investigators active in basic, clinical, translational or population cardiovascular research for career endeavors and achievements who have made a significant impact on cardiovascular disease and stroke and those who helped further the mission of the Scientific Councils and the AHA.
Huang has a strong record of scientific contributions within the research community and is a recipient of numerous other awards. Her research is funded by the National Institutes of Health, Department of Defense, California Institute of Regenerative Medicine, American Heart Association, and Department of VA.
