Ngan F. Huang, PhD, has been granted a courtesy appointment in the chemical engineering department. This will help foster interdisciplinary research between the Stanford Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery and Chemical Engineering.

Dr. Huang is collaborating with chemical engineering faculty members Drs. Gerald Fuller and Alex Dunn in studying the effects of mechanical stimulation on vascular endothelial cell differentiation and vascular patterning. Additionally, she is collaborating with Dr. Danielle Mai in applying highly stretchable biomaterials for muscle repair. She is also currently teaching a course (CTS225: Stem Cells in Cardiovascular Regenerative Medicine) in which chemical engineering graduate students are enrolled.
