The CTRU supports a variety of services in multiple locations, from bedside nursing to specimen processing, in support of the Stanford research community.

Laboratory Services

Advanced Specimen Processing

The CTRU laboratory staff offers complex and study-specific specimen processing for a wide variety of biospecimens. We also provide shipping services for over 350 active clinical trials across CTRU’s BSL-2+ certified labs. Our lab staff is highly skilled at handling simple to elaborate specimen processing for time-sensitive samples and has been trained for specimen handling and documentation procedures within a PHI safe environment. Our lab staff receives specimens from the CTRU clinic as well as other Stanford clinics and is also available for custom analyses and budget-inquiry consultations.

Clinical Services

Multi-Disciplinary Research Care

The CTRU team (nurses, clinical staff, medical assistants, and phlebotomists) is highly specialized in supporting complex clinical research programs. This staff provides care to research participants in a state-of-the-art outpatient facility. CTRU nurses deliver exceptional care and are trained to follow patient care research protocols; make complex, research-related observations; perform accurate collection of specimens; and collect applicable research-related data and document treatment.

Phlebotomy Services

Biospecimen Collections

The CTRU team specializes in diverse specimen collections including complex blood draws, urine, saliva, stool, and much more. The CTRU team works with pediatric and adult research participants and can collect samples for CLIA testing.
