The overarching theme of our research is development of optical imaging technologies for cancer surgery and molecular diagnostics for urological cancer and infections. Our research is highly translational in nature and interfaces molecular biology, genomics, imaging science, bioengineering, artificial intelligence, and clinical medicine.
Our major areas of research include:
Enhanced and augmented endoscopic imaging technologies to improve bladder cancer detection and surgery
Multi-omic urine liquid biopsy technologies to improve bladder cancer detection and treatment monitoring
Medical device development for rapid diagnosis of urinary tract infections and kidney stone surgery.
Lab member Gene Shkolyar and others summarized the current state of art of enhanced imaging and AI technologies for cystoscopy and transurethral resection of bladder tumor (TURBT).
