How to Apply

To participate in the Stanford COMET Fellowship, a student must:

Step 1: Create a free online SlideRoom account and complete the online application

October 31, 2025 : Application Cycle Opens

2026-27 COMET APPLICATION

January 26, 2026: Priority Application Deadline

February 23, 2026: Regular Application Deadline

Step 2: Be invited for an interview

Step 3: Be formally admitted

Step 4: Complete onboarding process and provide all required documents after admission.

Step 1 - SlideRoom Account & The Application

To access the online application, please create a free online SlideRoom account and select the COMET Fellowship to get started.

The application fee for the Summer Cohort, Class of 2026-27 fellowship year will be $95 (Non-refundable). Online payment can be made once a student submits his/her completed application.

The application fee waiver request form will be available online when the application cycle begins. If you are a US resident with an annual household income under $80,000 or enrolled in a program that aids low-income families, you are eligible to submit the request form with a reference letter from a school counselor/official or a leader in the community. Once submitted, our team will review your request. If your request form is submitted before receiving confirmation from our team then we will not be able to waive your application fee.

Application Fee Waiver Request Form

A completed application consists of:

• A completed online application form (including essays) submitted by the deadline
• Two "letters of recommendations" from academic and/or professional references
• Resume/Curriculum vitae (CV)
• Unofficial transcripts from all undergraduate colleges and universities attended
• Typing test results

Step 2 - The Interview

Interviews are by invitation only. Applicants will be informed if they are invited for an interview which occur from February through March. Interviews start on February 2, 2026. Interviews will be occuring via video conference. Those not invited to interview should understand that the application process is exceptionally competitive, and students are encouraged to reapply for the program the following year.

Step 3 - Admission

Applicants will be notified if they are accepted to the program on rolling basis from February to April. 

Step 4 - Onboarding

Accepted fellows are required to submit program fee payment, provide important onboarding documents, and complete the mandatory online training curriculum prior to the start the fellowship. 

Onboarding procedures and online scribe training will begin in early April through June. Fellows will need to be on-site for in-clinic training on June 15, 2026.
