Body and MSK MRI: Clinical Updates and Practical Physics

Monterey Plaza Hotel Monterey, CA

A Continuing Medical Education Conference presented by the Department of Radiology at the Stanford University School of Medicine.

Sponsored by the Stanford University School of Medicine

Stanford Radiology CME is pleased to present Body and MSK MRI: Clinical Updates and Practical Physics, in Monterey, California. This course will review body and musculoskeletal imaging.

Attendees will learn how to perform and interpret body MRI for indications such as renal tumors, prostate cancer, rectal cancer, inflammatory bowel diseases and more.   The musculoskeletal portion will include imaging of groin pain, hip, as well as interactive cases.

The practical physics portion will include physical principles from basic MRI to recent advances in coils, acceleration, image contrast and motion correction.  We will describe how these principles are applied to achieve robust, high quality images.

Through lectures, question-and-answer sessions, engaging panel discussions and debates, participants will be better able to optimize image interpretation, discuss controversial topics, and enhance interactions with clinician colleagues.

Please join us in beautiful Monterey in October 2019!

Statement of Need

This course will educate practicing radiologists and MR technologists on the following broad topics:

  1. Physics of MRI
  2. Clinical interpretation of body MRI studies
  3. Latest and upcoming new developments in body MRI, musculoskeletal MRI (NEW), and MR physics.

Target Audience

This program is designed for:

  • Radiologists
  • Radiologic Technologists
  • Fellows and Residents
  • Allied Health professionals with a focus in radiology.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  • Develop new strategies to correctly interpret common body and MSK MRI exams
  • Review the underlying principles of MR physics
  • Recognize image quality issues and execute strategies to correct them
  • Communicate image protocol decisions with colleagues to improve team efficiency
