Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  • Apply evidence-based recommendations and guidelines for the Indication and interpretation of EKGs for coronary heart disease (CHD).
  • Apply evidence-based recommendations for the Indication and risks of both anticoagulation and left atrial appendage device occlusion.
  • Discuss the rationale and guidelines for congestive heart failure (CHF) management. 
  • Consider the higher risk cardiovascular disease (CVD) in patients with oncologic disease.
  • Incorporate the new guidelines for Dual Antiplatelet Therapy (DAPT) use and management in patients with recent coronary stents.
  • Implement appropriate work-up and therapies for patients with palpitations.
  • Develop strategies to more aggressively control blood pressure (BP), especially for patients over the age of 60.
