Driving

From 101 North or South: Take the "Embarcadero Road/West" exit. Follow Embarcadero Road for about two miles. Cross El Camino Real, after which the road becomes Galvez Street. Turn right at Arboretum Road, left on Sand Hill Road, left on Pasteur Drive, and right onto Welch Road. The Lucas Center is immediately on your left.

From 280 North or South: Take the Sand Hill Road exit and head east. Turn right on Pasteur Drive and right onto Welch Road. The Lucas Center is immediately on your left.

From El Camino Real North or South: Turn on Sand Hill Road. Turn left on Pasteur Drive and right onto Welch Road. The Lucas Center is immediately on your left.

Parking

Weekdays before 5 pm: You will need a parking permit. If we have invited you to visit the lab, please contact us ahead of your scheduled trip so that we can arrange parking if you will be driving.

Weekdays after 5 pm, weekends, and holidays: Park in any street parking spot around the building or in the large parking lot at the corner of Oak and Welch.

Public Transit

Stanford's free Marguerite Shuttle provides service to Lucas Center from the Palo Alto Caltrain Station, and will drop off/pick up passengers at 1200 Welch Road.

Coming from the Palo Alto Caltrain Station catch the Medical Center (MC) shuttle from the Palo Alto Transit Center (Caltrain) Shuttle Stop. Shuttles depart every 20 minutes or so, from 5:07 AM to 8:35 PM (timetable).
