Maternal and Child Health Research Institute

October 25-28, 2021 | Stanford MCHRI

Share your latest research developments in maternal or child health, learn from experts in the field, and connect with your colleagues at the 2020 Virtual MCHRI Symposium! All abstracts will be reviewed for presentation at the virtual poster sessions of the symposium. Five abstracts will be selected from the submissions for oral presentations during the afternoon session of the virtual symposium.All Stanford individuals are encouraged to submit an abstract, whether or not you and the research were funded by MCHRI. MCHRI-funded faculty and trainees (past and current) are highly encouraged to submit an abstract. Presenting authors will be invited to share their scientific work with attendees in creative and interactive ways, through videos/animated research summaries, poster presentations, and video- conferencing.

Academic Pediatric Association

January 2022 | Virtual

This annual meeting will be held virtually this year and is thus fairly easy for residents to get to for one or both days. This year they will be offering a travel scholarship for residents that can cover your gas/hotel fees. This meeting is a great opportunity to present your works-in-progress (usually PGY2 residents) or completed works (usually PGY3+ residents), especially in the areas of community engagement/advocacy, medical education, quality improvement, and global health. A number of our faculty, residents, and fellows attend each year, so please feel free to reach out to Carrie Rassbach MD (crassbac@stanford.edu) if you have specific questions.

Annual Community Health Symposium

March 2022 | Stanford University

Since 2002, the Community Health Symposium at Stanford School of Medicine has served to showcase the work of Stanford students, trainees, staff, faculty and community partners in underserved communities in California and around the world. This symposium is an opportunity to celebrate and elevate the incredible work of our community partners, and to foster collaboration, conversation and idea sharing.

Annual Pediatrics Research Retreat

The Stanford Department of Pediatrics invites submissions for oral and poster abstracts for the 13th Annual Pediatrics Research Retreat to be held on Friday, April 29, 2022 at the Li Ka Shing Center. 

Presenting at the Pediatrics Research Retreat is an opportunity for Students, Residents, Fellows, Postdoctoral Scholars, Instructors, Staff, and Faculty of all disciplines to share the latest research developments in their field.

Pediatric Academic Societies 2022 Meeting

April 21 – April 25, 2022 | Virtual & In-Person

The Pediatric Academic Societies (PAS) Meeting brings together thousands of pediatricians and other health care providers united by a common mission: improve the health and well-being of children worldwide. This international gathering includes researchers, academics, as well as clinical care providers and community practitioners. Presentations cover issues of interest to generalists as well as topics critical to a wide array of specialty and sub-specialty areas.

American Public Health Association Annual Meeting 2021

October 23 – 27, 2021 | Denver, CO

APHA champions the health of all people and all communities. They strengthen the public health profession and speak out for public health issues and policies backed by science. They are the only organization that combines a nearly 150-year perspective, a broad-based member community and the ability to influence federal policy to improve the public's health.

The theme of the meeting is Creating the Healthiest Nation: Preventing Violence. Authors are encouraged to submit abstracts on the theme and current and emerging public health issues.
