Mission

The Transplant Hub at Stanford envisions a world where all children who need an organ transplant can reach their full potential, survive until the time of their life-saving organ transplant, and have equitable and just outcomes after transplant.

Problem Statement

Stanford Medicine Children’s Health performs the highest volume of pediatric solid organ transplant (kidney, heart, liver, and lung) in the United States, taking on some of the country's most complex cases.

Institutional and systemic factors lead to transplant waitlist disparities and inequitable transplant outcomes.

Strategic Approach

Through leveraging relationships with the local and national solid organ transplant community and elevating the voices of patients and their families to understand and address the drivers of inequitable transplant outcomes, our hub can work to eliminate health disparities through the transplant process, ensuring that every child who needs a transplant has equitable access to high-quality care and the necessary resources for lifelong health and well-being.
