The Stanford Cancer Institute Data Dashboard provides access to a wide scope of publicly available data on cancer burden and social determinants of health. The dashboard serves as a complementary tool for data-driven assessments and the identification of opportunities to advance cancer research and interventions.

This data visualization tool, via Tableau application, features data relevant to the 10-county catchment area served by the Stanford Cancer Institute and priority cancer sites. It also includes data for all California counties and additional cancer sites. Tableau provides interactive online mapping, tables, data profiles, and download options. A diverse range of users, including community partners, can have straightforward access to valuable data to support learning, application, and collaborations for cancer control research and interventions.

Collaboration

The Stanford Cancer Institute Office of Cancer Health Equity manages this tool in partnership with the Stanford School of Medicine Business Analytics office within Technology and Digital Solutions at Stanford Health Care. The Stanford Cancer Institute has a no-cost licensing agreement with the University of Kentucky Markey Cancer Center’s Community Impact Office to access data gathering and application creation code through Cancer InFocus. Cancer InFocus serves as a primary data procurement source for the dashboard’s data delivery via the Tableau application. Learn more on the Cancer InFocus Data Sources web page about where data is gathered and filtered from various publicly available sources.
