Stanford named a top 10 cancer hospital by U.S. News & World Report

Stanford has ranked among the top 10 cancer hospitals in the nation

Stanford Medicine Cancer Center has ranked among the top 10 cancer hospitals in the nation in the 2025 U.S. News & World Report Best Hospitals rankings. The rankings evaluated nearly 900 hospitals across the country and highlighted the top 50.

This achievement underscores the strength of Stanford’s clinical expertise and collaborative spirit and places Stanford among the nation’s most exemplary and high-achieving cancer hospitals.

Steven Artandi, MD, PhD, director of the Stanford Cancer Institute, says, “I am proud to have the Stanford cancer community recognized for our commitment to excellence. This distinction illustrates our contributions to groundbreaking research, clinical innovation, and patient care that have positioned Stanford at the forefront of cancer medicine nationwide.”

The Stanford Cancer Institute leverages the resources of Stanford University and Stanford Health Care, including the Stanford Medicine Cancer Center, and is a National Cancer Institute (NCI) Comprehensive Cancer Center, one of only 57 in the country. This designation means the center has met rigorous standards for cancer researchpatient carecommunity impact, and educating the next generation of cancer researchers and providers. 

The 2025 rankings recognized Stanford Health Care for its overall excellence. The health system was named to the Best Hospitals Honor Roll for the 11th consecutive year, reaffirming its standing among the nation’s top 20 hospitals. Additionally, the health system was nationally ranked in 11 out of 15 specialties and received “high performing” ratings in 21 of 22 procedures and conditions.
