How to Donate Blood
How to Donate Blood
The Stanford Medical School Blood Center provides a broad range of blood products and testing services. The staff at the Blood Center works closely with physicians when patients require autologous and designated blood donations and clinical therapeutic phlebotomy. Our Automated Blood Collection (ABC) Department, also known as apheresis, collects specific blood components, including:
- Platelets
- Red blood cells
- Plasma
- Leukocytes
We also participate in the National Marrow Donor Program. The laboratories within the Blood Center provide specialized clinical testing, including flow cytometry and tissue typing services.
Volunteer
What makes this possible is a strong team of employees and volunteers in a supportive environment.
Make a gift
