Bronchiectasis and Nontuberculous Mycobacterial Lung Disease Program
The Divisions of Pulmonary, Allergy, and Critical Care Medicine and Infectious Diseases offer a specialty program dedicated to the needs of patients with bronchiectasis and nontuberculous mycobacterial (NTM) lung disease.
Stanford’s Bronchiectasis and NTM Clinic
The Stanford Bronchiectasis and NTM clinic cares for patients with bronchiectasis who suffer from chronic lung infections, chronic cough and sputum production, shortness of breath, fatigue and other bodily symptoms. We offer evaluations for the etiology of airway disease, collaborative care with other specialists, comprehensive airway clearance techniques and education, and antibiotic management. For patients with NTM lung disease, we offer testing for disease confirmation, comprehensive antibiotic management, surgical resection and a variety of clinical trials. Our program includes comprehensive care, ground-breaking scientific research, education and support for people with bronchiectasis and NTM lung disease.
Multidisciplinary Approach
We offer a comprehensive, individualized, multidisciplinary approach to evaluate patients with bronchiectasis and NTM lung disease. Many patients have experienced a prolonged or difficult journey to discover the cause of their airway disease. Our group includes expert colleagues in Pulmonology, Infectious Diseases, Radiology, Respiratory Therapy, Gastroenterology, Interventional Pulmonology, Otolaryngology, Thoracic Surgery and Lung Transplantation, collaborating to custom tailer an appropriate treatment plan for each unique patient.
