The mission of the BMT Diversity and Inclusion committee is to both assess and ensure that the environment and culture of the BMT Division and Program is inclusive, welcoming, and supportive of all members of our community and that the we provide the best possible environment for each individual’s success. Diversity improves the educational experience, strengthens our team, and helps us take care of our patients from multi-cultural backgrounds. We welcome and value all aspects of human differences such as race, ethnicity, language, nationality, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, socioeconomic status, geography, age and disability.
Immediate committee goals:
- Continuously assess and identify BMT structure or practice areas of concern
- Identify meaningful metrics of BMT program diversity and inclusion that we will monitor for improvement
- Propose new diversity and inclusion initiatives across BMT Division, hospital units, clinics, and labs
