Yamuna Kondapally, MD

Yamuna Kondapally, MD was born and raised in India. She received her medical degree from Osmania Medical College. After graduation, she worked as a research assistant in cardiology at the University of Pennsylvania before her Internal Medicine Residency at Saint Peters University Hospital/Rutger Robert Wood Johnson Hospital. She then worked as a primary care physician in rural Hemet in Southern California. She is currently a Clinical Instructor/Hospitalist at Washington University in St. Louis BMT division. Her interest in hematological malignancy now brings her back to the fellowship in the field. In her spare time, she likes to cook and plays guitar.


Nayan Mainkar, MD

Nayan Mainkar, MD grew up on the East Coast. She received her medical degree from Ross University and completed her Medicine Residency and Hematology/Oncology Fellowship at East Carolina University. She is interested in many aspects of cancer and therapeutics. She has presented in various meetings about lymphoma, GI, and prostate cancers. She loves animals and volunteers at local animal shelters. When she has time, she enjoys playing tennis and dining out.


Alejandro Villar-Prados, MD

Alejandro Villar-Prados, MD, PhD was born and raised in Puerto Rico. He received his MD and PhD from a dual institute program between the University of Puerto Rico and MD Anderson Cancer Center. He completed his Medicine Residency and is finishing up the Hematology/Oncology Fellowship at Stanford. His research interests are myeloid malignancy and graft engineering. When he is free, he composes music and plays electric guitar. He’s also into mixology (making mixed drinks).


Patricia Winner, MD

Patricia Winner, MD was born in Guam but grew up in Las Vegas. She received her MD degree from the University of Nevada, Reno. She is finishing up her Internal Medicine Residency at Riverside University Health in California. During her residency, she has been very active in care improvement projects including a cervical cancer screening program. She is also very interested in education and has been writing chapters in the field of hematology/oncology for Kochar’s Clinical Medicine for Students. She likes jigsaw puzzles, sudoku, baking and playing video games with her husband.


Muhammad Zarak, MD

Muhammad Zarak, MD was born and raised in Pakistan. He received his medical degree from Bolen Medical College in Quetta, Pakistan. He then did his Internship at Howard University, followed by Medicine Residency at Northwest Medical Center in Tucson. He’s always had strong interest in hematologic malignancy and has been productive academically by performing meta-analyses in different fields. He also served as the President of National Resident Forum, an elected body that provides assistance in educational needs for fellow residents within 33 programs. In his spare time, he enjoys playing cricket and badminton as well as photography.
