TheĀ Stanford Bio-X Interdisciplinary Initiatives Seed Grants Program Symposium took place on August 29, 2024 from 1:15 PM to 5:30 PM at the Clark Center Auditorium and Courtyard at Stanford. Ari Arias and Ireh Kim, both 2024 BioX Summer Undergraduate Fellows, participated as poster presenters. Ari's poster was entitled "Disuse-Induced Alterations in Skeletal Muscle Innervation Pattern and Neuromuscular Junction Morphology" and covered his summer research work looking at the effects of umuscle unloading on neuromuscular junctions in a rodent model of disuse atrophy. Ireh's poster "Inhibition of the Gerozyme 15-PGDH Rescues Skeletal Muscle Hypertrophy in Response to Overload in Aged Mice" covered her studies aimed at understanding how boosting expression of PGE2 can improve muscle hypertrophy in aged rodents.
