--New prenatal blood tests developed at Stanford can check fetal DNA, raising ethical questions
Noninvasive blood tests for expectant mothers to detect genetic abnormalities, like Down syndrome, are raising some ethical questions. The technique was developed by Stephen Quake, the Lee Otterson Professor of Bioengineering, who is referenced in this article. Hank Greely, with the Stanford Center for Biomedical Ethics, also provides comment here.
