Global Faculty Training Program

Overview

Global Faculty Training Program

Each year, Stanford Biodesign offers a Global Faculty Training Program for faculty members and health technology innovators from universities and academic medical centers around the world. Its purpose is to provide instruction on the biodesign innovation process and how we teach it so that these trainees may launch or expand Biodesign-like programs at their home institutions.

The five-month intensive training experience, which runs from January to June, has two tracks: 1) an in-person fulltime option conducted at Stanford University, and 2) a virtual part-time option for those unable to relocate during the program. Virtual participants are invited to Stanford for a three-week visit at the end of training period to meet the other individuals in their cohort and to network with the Biodesign community.

Participants have come from Australia, Belgium, Brazil, China, Israel, Japan, Kenya, Rwanda, Taiwan, Thailand, and the United Kingdom. We welcome trainees from other locations, including the United States.

Our application opens each year during summer. The deadline for this year’s applications was in October. Applicants will be asked to provide a resume or CV, a written statement about their goals for participating in the program, and a letter of recommendation/support from their sponsoring institution.

Please contact Meghana Nerurkar and Ravi Pamnani for more information. We also invite you to learn more about the global faculty trainees who have completed the program to date using the links below.
