Kyle Brewer , PhD
Staff Scientist
Email » kdbrewer@stanford.edu
Kyle is an expert in RNA technology & mass spectroscopic bio-analytical techniques.
At ADDReB, Kyle is currently working on the COL7A (collagen) project.
Kyle is a scientist and entrepreneur. He has previously worked as a postdoctoral fellow in the laboratory of Dr. Tony Wyss-Coray in the Department of Neurology and Neurological Sciences, and also worked in conjunction with the laboratory of Dr. Carolyn Bertozzi in the Department of Chemistry and ChEM-H.
Kyle was awarded a BS in Biochemistry and a BA in Chemistry from North Carolina State University while performing research under Dr. Mitch Eddy at the NIH-National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences. He earned his PhD in biophysics in the laboratory of Dr. Josep Rizo at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center where he determined a structural model of the synaptotagmin-SNARE complex, proteins key to achieving rapid neurotransmitter release.
Ankur Samanta
AI Intern
Computer Engineering student at University of Toronto
Ankur has worked on 3D deep learning, computer vision, and medical imaging research at ADDReB Lab.
• Created novel multi-modal Transformer model for real-time cardiac abnormality classification
• Developed real-time intra-op TEE and ultrasound imaging 3D reconstruction software (point cloud registration, classification)
• Created novel 3D sequential transformer+capsule net for volumetric segmentation of MRIs and modeling of brain fluid deposits
• Built nanoparticle tracking pipeline, performing particle classification and trajectory modeling on microscopy data
• Developed 3D brain modeling tool using MRI scans and 3D medical thermogram technique modeling 3D spatial+thermal data

Bhavika Mam, PhD
Postdoctoral Researcher, Bioinformatics & Drug Development
Email » bhavika7@stanford.edu
Bhavika is an expert in Bioinformatics & Computational Biology and a member of the Early Career Committee at CVI, Stanford. Notably, she was awarded the prestigious Stanford PBDI grant in 2023.
Her interests lie in improving health outcomes for diverse populations using inter-disciplinary methods driving together innovation & sustainability.
Bhavika led in silico and in vitro projects focused on therapeutic applications for Epidermolysis bullosa (EB) and played key roles in initiating the projects. Her expertise in structural bioinformatics allowed her to explore the mechanism of collagen type VII in the disease (manuscript in preparation). She successfully extracted and purified recombinant human COL7A, participating in biophysical studies using Surface Plasmon Resonance. Bhavika played a crucial role in formulating and developing COL7A delivery and performed cytotoxicity tests on human keratinocytes for therapeutic purposes in EB (manuscript in preparation).
