Wu Tsai Neurosciences Institute’s Neuroscience Microscopy Service Merges with the Beckman Center’s Cell Sciences Imaging Facility
The Beckman Center News / Fall 2024
The Neurosciences Microscopy Service (NMS), a VPDoR service facility led by Gordon Wang, PhD, has merged with the Cell Sciences Imaging Facility (CSIF), a School of Medicine service facility led by Jonathan Mulholland, to forge a unified microscopy service for the Stanford campus.
Effective November 1, 2024, Dr. Wang and Mulholland are co-directing this integrated imaging resource. Over the next several months, they will facilitate a seamless union of the facilities, realize economies of scale, and transition the fully operational facility to the leadership of Dr. Wang by September 1, 2025. At that time, Mulholland will step away as director emeritus to seek new adventures, while maintaining an advisory role in support of Dr. Wang.
This plan provides an opportunity to maintain stability in the CSIF while also bringing in new expertise that will serve the Stanford community well into the future.
